Siemens to invest $200 million in Mexico

Mexico (Notimex) -- Siemens has announced it will invest some $200 million in Mexico over the next years to increase the infrastructure of nine plants in the country.

The investment will also help boost the company's human capital and create some 1,000 direct jobs.

Siemens has created 7,000 direct jobs and some 82,000 indirect jobs in its 132 years of operating in Mexico, said director Gabriel Arrillaga, Human Resources director at Siemens Mexico and Central America.

The company will boost its Dual Education program in Mexico, aiming to increase the number of Mexican professionals trained in digitalization, Arrillaga said.

Siemens cuurently operates nine plants, two distribution centers, 15 sales offices and headquarters in Mexico.

The company's Mexican offices also serve as its oeprational center for Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Cuba.
